For All: The CAFA Education Foundation for Aerospace scholarship program
for this coming year is underway. EFA expects to provide at least three
$1,000 scholarships—one from each CAFA area. I have attached the EFA chapter
scholarship documents, criteria and applications that will be used for the
EFA scholarships. These same documents can be used by chapters to start
their own local chapter scholarship programs. Last years CAFA EFA
scholarship program was a success and we hope to continue this success. .
For this year this is how the EFA Scholarship Program is to be implemented:
(1) Each area VP will be allowed to submit a maximum of three deserving
students from their area. It is expected that each chapter will submit their
student EFA scholarship nominees to the area VP who will then select his
three area nominees to go forward to EFA selection committee.
(2) Each area VP will send the above information to each of their chapters.
The EFA Scholarship program will be an agenda item to be briefed at each
CAFA state meeting and CAFA area meeting.
(3) Each area VP will set his own suspense date to allow time to meet the
EFA suspense post marked date of 13 April 2009. (I would suggest an Area 20
March 2009 suspense date).
(4) All CAFA Area VPs must have their area EFA scholarship nominees
(postmarked) by 13 April 2009 to reach Rich Taubinger, EFA Executive VP, 12
Century Court, Roseville CA 95678-1088. The EFA Selection Committee will
meet shortly thereafter. After the selections are made, the area VPs will be
immediately notified of the scholarship winners. The area VP will contact
the area chapters and may present the scholarships accordingly. It is hoped
that each winning chapter scholarship winner will be invited and sponsored
by the chapter to attend the CAFA state convention.
